To address this need, during the summer of 2007 Friendship Baptist Church, Coeburn, VA daily provided 220 "Brown Bag Lunches" during the eight weeks of summer. They anticipate doubling the number of children being served lunches this year. In 2007 the church only delivered to 5 communities. The church knows there are other areas where they can expand and reach more children. The needs for the summer of 2008 are monetary donations, brown lunch bags, individually packaged chips, cookies, candy, and drinks, sandwich baggies, crayons, coloring sheets or tracts for the children.
