During the summer months several small churches and ministry centers in Central Appalachia try to provide at least one meal a day to needy children in their area.  It is estimated that close to 60% of the children in the rural areas do not received proper daily nourishment and over 20% of them go to bed hungry every night.  To learn how you can become involved in providing the needed resources to feed the children contact bbarker@arministry.org.

37 of the 100 poorest counties in the USA are located in Central Appalachia.  In Matthew 25:31-46 Jesus reminds us of the importance He places on helping the poor.  Should we not place equal importance on the things He considers important?

Worship Leader: Missionary Opportunity.  The Foundry is seeking a teammate who is an experienced music minister and contemporary worship leader. We are looking for an individual with a passion for impacting the next generation through the use of the arts.  We are a church plant with no full time staff. The individual would need to be bi-vocational or an MSC missionary. This is an opportunity to do something special in the Kingdom.

The Foundry is an cutting edge ministry which targets emerging adults ages 16-35 as its core people group. Our core ministries are
Campus/student ministry, The Arts, Children's/Family Programs, Social Justice issues: Literacy, Women's issues, Homeless, Abandonment.

The person would be responsible for helping develop our Sunday Morning worship, Discipling Artists, team building in the arts, participating on a team of artists to launch an outreach based Arts Academy to students. We currently have a volunteer team of dance, drama, fine art, film making, musicians. But we lack someone who has the ability to build worship teams and teach other musicians. This is a key area for our growth.

Our church DNA is to develop church planting teams. Identify target
areas, recruit church planters and place a team in support of the planter and launch new works targeting mosaic's and collegiate communities around the globe.

We plan to launch our first remote service in October with the desire to see it develop into a church plant. We are doing this with virtually no money. We have a 501c3 non-profit and are working to build partnerships which could provide future underwriting for ministry.

The individual needs to be a self starter, settled in the spiritual
giftedness, actively maturing on their faith journey, passionate about
using their gift to impact people. If you are a person who just wants to get up and perform don't apply. We seek a strong teammate who can minister to others who passionately serves.

Major Flat Roof Need: Rising Star Baptist Church for many years was the strongest church in the Steel Valley Baptist Association in attendance, missions giving, church planting support, and overall cooperation.   In recent years the church has struggled and the attendance has declined, at one point dropping below 100 in average attendance.  Under the leadership of their new pastor, Ken Donaldson, the church is on the upswing.  But because of the debt load they are unable to do the building repairs needed to continue reaching out into the community.  Currently the roof (flat) to their educational  building (used to be a school) is in ill-repair and is in need of replacing. The church has put together about $40,000 for repairs, and has been told that it will take about another $35,000 to have enough to effect repairs if volunteers do the work. The church needs to be able to utilize the space made unusable by the roof leakage.   However, they already owe about $500,000 on the note for the worship center and offices constructed under a previous pastor.  Because of the financial situation with the church, they cannot afford additional debt.   Volunteers are needed to make the roof repairs and monetary help is needed as well.
