The
Greater Huntington Baptist Association covers three complete counties in
West Virginia and parts of three other counties (Cabell, Wayne, Lincoln,
Mason, Logan, and Putnam).
The largest city in the Association is
Huntington, home of Marshall University and the
"Thundering Herd."
Approximately 75% of the people
living in the ministry area of the GHBA are unchurched. The
association has 10 churches and 1 new church start in Barboursville.
In 2007 the association is focusing
on starting a new church(es) in Wayne County in the area around the towns
of Wayne, Lavalette, Prichard, Fort Gay, and Salt Rock. There is
NO SBC work in these towns. The are also focusing on helping
