WHY GET
INVOLVED?
NEED:
Many families living in Appalachia live in impoverished conditions. Southern
Baptists are responding in a variety of ways, ministering to their physical
needs and sharing with them the love of Jesus.
JESUS SAID:
“Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least
of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me” (Matthew 25:40 KJV).
THE BIBLE SAYS:
“Pure religion and undefiled
before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in
their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world” (James
1:27 KJV).
WHO CAN GET
INVOLVED?
Local church congregations, Baptist Women,
GA and RA Groups, Youth Groups, Baptist Men, Ladies groups, Sunday School
classes, Associations, and most importantly—you.
“If you see some brother or sister in need
and have the means to do something about it but turn a cold shoulder and do
nothing, what happens to God's love? It disappears. And you made it
disappear” (1 John 3:17 Msg).
